The last couple days, I have been road tripping. Just Lorraine and I and I-15. We went to Logan to visit McKinsey Maurine and friends and then continued our journey northward to the Allen abode in Pocatello.
It was an educational and needed two days in the tundra lands. So this is what I learned:
- Kinsey is the epitome of hospitable. And seeing as she just got a new cook book, she'll be a smashing future Mrs. Bieber.
- The Chi Omega house (in which I stayed in Logan) has a sketchy history. "The incident" resulted in the house being shut down and allowing only two days for its previous residents to vacate. No worries though because the incident was a few years ago and Katie and Kenneth the house parents will make sure no such incidences reoccur.
- Apparently someone living in Chi Omega really loved owl pictures prior to "the incident."
- Cafe Rio, Justin Bieber, and visiting my boys and friends on Darwin was the perfect cure for the human interaction I've been so seriously lacking.
- Pocatello is a pretty cute town and will shortly be my future home. But that is only because I saw Rapunzel's house and I fell in love with it and it was for sale! Home owner at 20 in windy Pocatello!
- There is a stairway to heaven, and I climbed it. Heaven may have a good view, but it was a lot colder than I had envisioned.
- I like weird/sad movies I guess. Does that mean I am weird and sad?
- I suck at choosing. Anything. Of course this wasn't exactly learned from my road trip, but my awareness was increased when the Allen brothers ganged up on my quoting apostles and making me be decisive. It was hard, and I think I'm annoying. It's a work in progress.
- And last but positively not least, the Allens are wonderful people. I'm glad I got out of my comfort zone and made the trip. I'm a lucky girl to have met them and I hope that wasn't my only stay in Pokey.
So clearly it was a good couple days. And do you see why they are cheesy and boss? Kinsey and Tyler both let me crash in their homes, they fed me, entertained me, and gosh I just love em! This life of mine is a good one.
