Upon arrival I was a tired little thing. I came in through the garage and it was immediately apparent. There has been some serious home decor happening at the Hyde's abode. For this is what I saw:

He was affectionately named Bullie Bullie (don't forget the ie).
Bullie Bullie was graciously bestowed upon us by Lee, after the hunt of my father's life. I'm quite serious when I say the hunt of father's life. He may not have made it out alive, were it not for two kindly butchers. It is quite the tale. It has action, loneliness, hiking, a large amount of hiking and heroism. I suggest you ask Papa Hyde to share it with you, should you ever cross his path.
Bullie Bullie took me by surprise. I turned to mother and said, "What is that?!" She smiled in her sweet smiling mother way and said, "This is one of those people are more important than things situations." And dad is indeed more important. She is a good woman. A good wife. She loves my dad unconditionally. Hence the gargantuan elk head taking residence in our kitchen.
Did you know this guy is five feet tall? Thats me minus six inches! He barely made it through the door and I daresay there wasn't a hope he could fit down the hall. So there he lives, disproportionately on our wall. Antlers entangled in the fan. He seems to be a happy sort of fellow. And we love him. Despite his size and overall location. Because we're proud of dad.
Post shock, I was having one of those cherished parent daughter talks. They are far and few in between these days. Anyway, dad with a smile as giddy as a schoolboy said, "You haven't commented on mom's new kitchen decor." "Oh, I commented. He's kind of hard to miss." We laughed. And I was genuinely happy. Because although Bullie may not be the most attractive wall decor, he's now a part my life. And my family. And he is a symbol of our love for one another. Thats just how things are around here. One big happy fam-dam-ily!
