A good day is when you wake up late, have no schedule, and choose to spend hours lost in a good book. A great day is when you wake up late to the sounds of the ocean, have nothing to do but lounge on the beach, and spend hours lost in a good book while getting a tan. I've had a string of great days lately. That is the beauty of family vacations in Mexico.
To get to Puerto Peñasco we drive. We drive hours that feel like centuries. We drive till I think we're at the end of the earth, and right before we drive off the edge the resort appears. Needless to say the Mayan Palace is in the middle of nowhere. Just me and the beach. Exactly the way I like it. As above mentioned, it is great. Good books, family, and the beach. Oh the beach! I love the sound of the waves. I love the smell. I love squishing my toes in the white sand. Peñasco is the ultimate relaxation destination.
Although soaking up UV rays has been marvelous, several adventures have been had as well. I couldn't catch a cangrejo. I really loved the sea shell dinos. My ninja turtle skills could use some refreshing. I pull off a luchador mask quite nicely. Not to mention a viking helmet. Fierce I know. Juan realized that us Hyde girls are strong independent women who do not need help from the male variety. Blanca is not white. WE'RE FRIENDS RIGHT MADDIE!? Mmm... Swedish massages are divine. Overall I'd say it was a pretty great vaca. The only drawback was no Nate this time. Sad but true. Although Kaytie found a Tyler ;) I look forward to seeing how this progresses! Its good to be home.
