How to be Humble

Hats off to Ben Goode. I have a new hero! No I have not actually met the man, but I just know he’s one of those really great people. Now I’m going to go off on a tangent, but I have a point. Kind of. It took one 4 minute video to trigger my dad. Road trip! It’d been 3 weeks since he’d seen his granddaughter and 4 since I’d seen my niece. We weren’t just baby hungry. We were baby starving! So after my dad saw a video of adorable Analee, he decided we were going to see her. The problem is Analee is 3 hours away, which is somewhat of a long commute to see her every day. Meeting in the middle was a great alternative.

We arrived in Fillmore an hour and a half later. There is nothing in Fillmore. Except for the Garden of Eat’n. Clever, oh so very clever. It was everything a restaurant/gas station should be. All 8 of us (sadly it was not 9) sat around the table oohing and awing at the one month old baby girl that was the reason for the gathering. I love her. So so much. However taking turns holding her I do not love. She’s so squishy and cuddly, I could hold her all day. However my sisters wouldn’t let me and I had to share. I was in a splendid mood and was unable to sit there patiently and wait my turn. To occupy my time I found some books. Some rather funny books. Author: Ben Goode. The first book I picked up was How to be Humble When You’re Smarter Than Everyone Else. Score! Book 2: How to Cope When You Are Surrounded by Idiots. Bellissimo! There were 17 of these marvelous guidebooks lying around. This man knows what’s up. He has life figured out and fortunately he decided to grace us with his superior knowledge.

Did you know that Utah’s oldest existing governmental building is the Territorial Statehouse located in Fillmore? Well I did. Because my placemat told me. It told me a lot of facts about Millard County. Great place. Mostly I just love the Garden of Eat’n and all the treasures it holds. I’m glad my dad decided to take a little trip. I love Analee. She is darling, lovely, and adorable. Perfect. Oh my family and the adventures we have.
